A New Jersey judge should issue a ruling in the case of programmer Cherry Hill Towne Center Partners versus Greenwood Running in August.
Cherry Hill is currently expecting to start an NJ sports gambling facility at which the Garden State Park racetrack stood. Greenwood is the operator of Garden State Park. It remains opposed to anybody else.
The crux of the issue revolves around that has the rights to accept wagers at the racetrack: Greenwood or the Cherry Hill developers.

The NJ sports gaming legislation passed in 2014 allow for two racetracks, NJ racetracks that are busy, and Atlantic City casinos, including Garden State Park and Atlantic City Racetrack, to apply for sports. Prior to the law has been passed the former racetracks had to get held a race there in the 15 years.
Garden State Park held its last race which makes it barely eligible.
The question is, who has the right?
Greenwood asserts it keeps exclusive rights to accept all and any wagers on the property. Cherry Hill claims sports betting was not a part of the equation when Greenwood had been allowed exclusive rights. Based on Cherry Hill, this renders those rights unenforceable and invalid.
Cherry Hill has redeveloped the site into a mixed industrial and residential zone. For that reason, it amounts it’s the right.
Confusing things is the simple fact that both sides are in online US sports betting business that is legal elsewhere.
